Materials & finishes

Every Raavo piece is built in solid Kikar, in the polish and fabric you choose. Here is what each one looks like, how it wears, and what it costs.

Our wood

Polishes

Applied by hand in thin layers and rubbed back between coats. Every piece can take every polish.

  • Natural teakClear lacquer over a light teak stain. Shows the grain most.
  • WalnutMedium brown with a warm undertone. Our most ordered polish.
  • EspressoDeep, almost-black brown. Hides everyday marks well.
  • Pale matteLight, open-grain matte finish. Small extra charge.

Upholstery fabrics

For sofas and seat cushions. All covers have zips so they can be dry-cleaned.

Swatch colours are a guide, as screens vary. Ask on WhatsApp and we will send photos of real samples, or visit the workshop to see them.

Looking after solid wood

  1. 01
    Out of direct sun

Strong afternoon sun fades polish and dries wood. A sheer curtain is enough.

  2. 02
    Away from AC vents

Air blowing straight onto wood all summer dries it unevenly. Angle vents away.

  3. 03
    Coasters for chai

Our lacquer resists heat and water, but rings form if a hot cup sits for hours.

  4. 04
    Lift, don't drag

Dragging puts all the strain on two legs and their joints. Lift to move.
